Yuba Watershed Council

The Yuba Watershed Council represents a diversity of interests in the Yuba Watershed including local, state, and federal agencies, conservation and environmental organizations, and neighborhood associations. The group is concerned with all issues in the Yuba Watershed and seeks to foster overall watershed health through cooperation, information and education. Its priorities include water quality, public safety, flood control and fuels management.

The Yuba Watershed Council is funded by grant money available under Proposition 204, the Safe, Clean, Reliable Water Supply Act, and its membership and programs are coordinated by an employee. It provides support for both SYRCL's and Deer Creek's River Monitoring programs. Janet Cohen, SYRCL's executive director, currently serves as vice chair, and SYRCL is active on all the Council's committees.
