The Lower Yuba Technical Working Group is an independent stakeholder group concentrating on efforts to improve the fishery and environment in the Lower Yuba River below Englebright Dam. SYRCL is the lead environmental organization in this group whose other members include the Yuba County Water Agency, Department of Fish and Game, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Marine Fisheries Service, and the Department of Water Resources. The working group is particularly interested in improving salmon and steelhead passage around Daguerre Point Dam, a 21-foot-high debris dam located about 12 miles below Englebright, and is currently examining options such as improved fish ladders or potential dam removal.
