Placer Nature Center – Auburn, California
Contact: Linda Desai, Education Director (530) 878-6053 The Placer Nature Center has nature trails, an intermittent stream, a year-round pond and lessons by volunteer docents. The center also has an existing offsite curriculum called Waterworks that is presented to area school groups by docents.

Effie Yaw Nature Center – Sacramento, California

The center has an outreach program called "Amazing Salmon" which they bring to area classrooms. On weekends during the spawning season, they have a "Salmon Stroll" tour where small groups hike down to the river to watch and learn about salmon.

The Water Education Foundation's mission is to create a better understanding of water issues and help resolve water resource problems through educational programs. Their website has information about school programs, teacher trainings, and water-related educational materials including books, videos, posters, and maps.
