The Yuba Detectives’ Club is your chance to 
The Yuba Detectives’ Club is a FREE Nature Club for
the Yuba Watershed’s Young Naturalists.
What Is It?
Yuba Detectives is an active club for young people
who want to discover more about nature – at the river
and right outside our back doors. Learn how to sharpen
your tracking skills, pick up clues from nature, and
become a nature expert.
As a member of the Yuba Detectives’ Club, you’ll get
your own detective kit and field guide. You’ll
also get our quarterly “Get a Clue” newsletter and monthly emails,
which have tons of fun outdoor activity
ideas and nature updates. Last, but not least, you’ll
be eligible to participate in Club Field Trips.
Club members must be between 8 and 12 years old and
live in Nevada, Yuba, or Sutter County.

Who is Detective Drizzle?
Detective Drizzle is the mascot for the Yuba Detectives’
Club, and the author of our newsletter “Get a Clue.”
Detective Drizzle has lived near the Yuba River for
a long time, and knows quite a bit about nature in
the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Send Detective Drizzle an email at detective_drizzle@syrcl.org
with a question about nature and she will write you
back in the Get a Clue newsletter. You can
also send the Detective pictures, poems or stories
about nature that you have written. Detective Drizzle
LOVES to hear from Detectives’ Club members. She’ll
make sure that your pictures, stories and questions
make it into the Get a Clue newsletter! The
Detective loves mail, so write soon!

When you join the Yuba Detectives’ Club, you’ll get
our membership packet which gives you the tools to
explore your environment – a simple field guide, a
copy of our latest newsletter, and a decoder ring to
decode clues in the newsletter about what’s happening
outdoors this season.

Yuba Detectives’ Club Field Trips
Club field trips are a way for club members to explore
the outdoors together. The outings include an outdoor
activity and an occasional indoor activity. All activities
are nature-related and encourage members to do their
own exploring as well as participating in structured
activities. Check this site regularly to find out
about upcoming field trips.
